Carroll County Community Concert Association

What is the Carroll County Community Concert Association?

CCCCA was established in 1986 by Virginia Brose, a local music lover who had enjoyed community concerts in her youth. She modeled it after concert associations already established in many other American communities. It is governed by a 24-member board of directors and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Over the 21+ years of its existence, the Association has brought The Dukes of Dixieland, Glenn Miller Orchestra, New Christy Minstrels, Moscow Balalaikas, The Celtic Tenors, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and over 80 other famous performers to the stage at Westminster High School. With an annual membership of about 1,200 concert-goers, CCCCA is proud of its longevity and the enthusiastic response of the community to the concerts it presents. In order to keep our concerts fresh and relevant we survey our subscribers routinely to measure changing tastes and interests.

What are the Endowment’s purposes?

The Carroll County Community Concert Association is preparing for the future because we expect to be around, doing what we do, for generations to come. We plan to be here, perpetuating the entertainment values you now appreciate and support. The primary purposes of the Endowment are to maintain the affordability of Association membership without sacrificing concert excellence and to insure financial stability against short-term membership fluctuations or unexpected emergencies. Additional goals are to provide extended opportunities for the musical education of local school students and insure long-term viability of the organization. Through this Endowment, CCCCA will nurture the enjoyment of music by all generations for years to come.

How is the Endowment managed?

The endowment trust will be professionally managed through our partnership with The Community Foundation of Carroll County.
