Shakespeare Factory


The Shakespeare Factory is a group of teachers, students, and community members dedicated to bringing Shakespeare to life through performance in the schools and in the community. The organization is centered at Century High School in Sykesville, Maryland. The Shakespeare Factory has the following major objectives:

• Encourage the teaching of Shakespeare using performance techniques
• Form groups in the schools and in the community to perform Shakespeare
• Encourage the idea that Shakespeare can be enjoyed by people of all ages
• Develop relationships with other Shakespeare organizations such as theater companies, schools, and community groups.

The Shakespeare Factory consists of the following components: The Rude Mechanicals Shakespeare acting troupe, an adult acting troupe, a youth summer camp, and the Shakespeare Supper Club.

The Shakespeare Factory Advisory Board consists of the following members: Shirley Cammack, Ann Davis, Tom Rinaldi, Heather James, Jackie Geunther, Stewart Dearie, Cathy James, and Tom Delise.
